Milwaukee M12 Compact Inflator Kit review

The 2475-21XC kit packages the 2475-20 M12 Compact Inflator with one M12 XC 4.0 battery pack (48-11-2440), an M12 charger (48-59-2401), and four listed attachments. The pump uses a removable M12 pack; the kit configuration does not change the 2475-20 manual's 120 PSI ceiling, 10-minute use/cooling interval, or target-stop limitations.

A useful fit for

Best considered when a buyer wants the documented 2475-20 tire-inflation functions and specifically needs the 2475-21XC's included M12 XC 4.0 battery and charger. The kit lists Schrader, Presta and ball attachments.

The main tradeoff

The pump is still a removable-battery tool, not an internal-battery inflator. Its pump limits remain 120 PSI, a 10-minute use/10-minute cool interval and a 10 PSI minimum auto-stop setting; target pressure is not recommended with accessory nozzles. Milwaukee does not publish a verified per-charge fill count in the reviewed kit listing.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

What does the 2475-21XC kit add over the 2475-20 tool-only model?

Milwaukee's kit page lists one XC 4.0 M12 battery (48-11-2440), an M12 charger (48-59-2401), and the same 2475-20 pump with its four attachments. The battery remains removable; the listing does not establish a tires-per-charge figure.

Can the kit's ball needle use the preset stop?

The 2475-20 manual says a target setting is not recommended with accessory nozzles. Treat sports-ball inflation as a manually controlled use and follow the ball maker's pressure instructions.

Does the XC 4.0 pack listing establish how many tires the kit can inflate?

No. Milwaukee identifies the included 48-11-2440 XC 4.0 pack, but the reviewed kit page and pump manual do not verify a tires-per-charge figure or a matched-condition runtime test.

Milwaukee’s 2475-21XC is the M12 Compact Inflator Kit, a packaged version of the 2475-20 pump rather than a different inflator mechanism. This review distinguishes the kit from the tool-only model because the battery and charger change what a buyer receives. The assessment is based on the current Milwaukee kit listing and the 2475-20 operator manual; it is not a hands-on test, and no runtime or tire-fill measurements were made.

The kit adds a specified battery and charger

Milwaukee lists seven items in the box: the 2475-20 inflator, one M12 XC 4.0 battery pack (48-11-2440), an M12 charger (48-59-2401), a Schrader chuck, a Presta attachment, a ball needle and an inflator nozzle. This is useful differentiation from the standalone 2475-20, whose tool-only package does not include a battery or charger. Before ordering, match the package number and verify that the seller is supplying the kit contents rather than a bare pump, a different battery bundle or a listing assembled from stock images.

The battery still slides into the tool and is removable; it is not a built-in battery. That is relevant if the goal is to keep an inflator permanently self-contained or to choose an internal-battery answer in a finder. It is also relevant in the other direction: the included pack can be removed and used within Milwaukee’s M12 system, subject to battery compatibility and manufacturer instructions. The kit page does not prove a particular number of tires per charge, so the larger XC 4.0 marking should not be turned into an unsupported runtime or fill-count promise.

The pump’s tire operation is inherited from the 2475-20

The kit contains the 2475-20 inflator body, so the model-specific manual’s limits and directions apply. For car and truck tires, the manual instructs the operator to screw the Schrader chuck onto the valve and make it tight. For a Presta bicycle stem, it describes loosening the valve locknut before inflation and tightening the nut after. The package lists both attachments, but a listed adapter is not a universal promise that every valve, wheel design or access angle will be convenient; check the exact stem and the manual’s connection steps.

The manual describes digital pressure monitoring and automatic shutoff at a selected target, with a minimum automatic-stop setting of 10 PSI. It also cautions against setting a target when using accessory nozzles. The ball needle is therefore not evidence of an automatic-stop ball-inflation plan. Follow the ball manufacturer’s target, stay present and avoid overinflation. Milwaukee’s manual says not to leave the tool unattended in operation.

Performance ratings are pump specifications, not kit runtime guarantees

The manual lists a 120 PSI maximum, output of 0.88 CFM at 0 PSI and 0.63 CFM at 35 PSI, and an operating range of 0–125°F. It directs the user to cool the inflator for 10 minutes after each 10 minutes of continuous use. The hose is listed as 26 inches. These are meaningful boundaries when comparing a compact occasional-use pump with a unit intended for longer repeated work. They are not a comparative, independently measured tire fill-rate, and the kit listing does not document a guaranteed number of fills per included pack.

Milwaukee’s product listing describes quick examples for a passenger-car top-off and a light-truck tire. Those remain manufacturer claims. Without a complete protocol and matched starting conditions, a shopper should not assume the same time for another tire size, pressure change, temperature or battery state. The target should come from the vehicle maker’s cold-pressure recommendation—not the tire sidewall maximum—and pressure should be checked in the way the vehicle maker recommends.

Uses and limitations

The manual names car and truck tires, bicycle tires, lawn-equipment tires, sports equipment, air mattresses, beach toys and other inflatables. It prohibits using this tool to fill air tanks or shocks, as a breathing device or to spray chemicals. The 120 PSI ceiling and the 10-minute-on/10-minute-cool direction make the 2475-21XC a poor basis for assuming suitability for an unlisted industrial job or repeated large-volume work. A kit does not change those pump constraints.

For someone new to M12, the included 4.0 pack and charger make this configuration more complete at purchase than 2475-20 tool-only. Someone already equipped with compatible batteries and a charger may prefer to compare the lower-contents 2475-20 configuration. Either way, the included kit image is not a complete inventory: Milwaukee’s exact page lists the XC battery, though the captured official image shows the pump and charger but omits the battery. Use the written in-the-box list, not the image alone, to check the package.

Bottom line

The 2475-21XC makes sense on paper when the buyer wants the 2475-20’s removable-battery M12 inflator and specifically needs the listed XC 4.0 pack and charger in the same kit. The practical benefits and drawbacks of the pump remain those of the bare 2475-20: Schrader and Presta tire connections, a target stop for tire inflation, a 120 PSI maximum, a short 26-inch hose, a 10-minute continuous-use interval and a 10 PSI minimum auto-stop target. Confirm the model number and all seven kit items before buying, and do not interpret the kit’s battery inclusion as a published runtime test.
