A useful fit for

A compact battery-powered bicycle choice for a rider who prefers the Recon Mini SL body, wants the Clik quick-connect head and already has compatible valves or will obtain the core conversion separately.

The main tradeoff

The bare 60014-CA package omits the Clik core kit and the standard 60014 SL package's separate Schrader hose and ball needle; its Clik-specific accuracy tolerance and head mass are not stated.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Will the 60014-CA connect to an ordinary Presta valve as supplied?

Not through the Clik head unless the valve is already Clik-compatible. VIAIR lists the 61011 Clik core kit separately and says it replaces standard Presta cores; the 60014-CA box list does not include that kit. Confirm that your Presta core is replaceable or compare the 63014-CA carrier package, which names Clik cores in its selector option.

Does its half-PSI display increment mean half-PSI accuracy?

No such tolerance is stated for 60014-CA. VIAIR's regular 60014 specification lists ±1 PSI, but that table is labelled for the standard SKU; the Clik feature list only says the display steps by 0.5 PSI.

Is the SL Clik version a passenger-car inflator?

The reviewed 60014-CA materials identify bicycle and MTB-fork use, not a passenger-car operating plan. Its pressure ceiling and compact form do not establish a car-tire rating.

The Recon Mini SL 60014-CA combines the turquoise SL-bodied miniature compressor with a Clik-compatible quick-connect head. It is not the 60014 with the aluminum Presta chuck, despite the shared SL name. VIAIR presents the two as different selector configurations: the ordinary 60014 has an aluminum Presta head and separate Schrader hose; the -CA option has the upgraded Clik head and a box list of the compressor plus USB charging cable. The core kit needed to convert a standard Presta valve is not listed in this rider-carry package.

The SL name does not change the valve conversion

For someone already using Clik-compatible bicycle valves, the 60014-CA provides a direct mating head without the additional hose of a larger pump. If the bike still has ordinary Presta valve cores, however, the exact 60014-CA box list does not solve that interface on its own. VIAIR’s 61011 core-kit page says the kit replaces standard Presta cores with Clik-compatible internals; those cores are a separate part unless an offer specifically bundles them. Before choosing this SKU, confirm that the existing valve core can be replaced and that the listing is not actually for the core-inclusive 63014-CA carrier package. The finder’s “Presta valve adapter” filter intentionally does not treat a bare Clik head as a conventional Presta adapter.

VIAIR identifies this Mini family for bicycle use and calls out MTB-fork pressure tuning. It describes a preset target and automatic stop for the SL Clik variant and names the same road, gravel and mountain-bike full-charge scenarios shown for the other Mini. Those use claims are not a passenger-car rating, a tubeless-seating specification or a guarantee for every tire. The Clik head also is not evidence of a press-on or twist-on tire-gun connection; those questionnaire choices remain unconfirmed for this configuration.

Display increments are not accuracy

The product page lists 0.5-PSI display increments for 60014-CA and describes dual lithium-polymer batteries, a brushless motor and preset stop. It links the 60014 user manual and dimensional drawing. The manual’s short five-to-seven-minute maximum run window and operating precautions are useful boundaries for the Mini platform, but they are not a measured fill time or a continuous-duty rating. VIAIR’s named full-charge examples are three 30 mm road tires from 0 to 70 PSI, three 45 mm gravel tires from 0 to 40 PSI, or three 2.4-inch MTB tires from 0 to 20 PSI, with some charge left for top-ups. Treat each as a manufacturer example, not evidence that a different tire, target or temperature will yield the same result.

The standard 60014 specification table gives ±1 PSI gauge accuracy, yet that table is labelled for part 60014 and the separate -CA feature list does not repeat an accuracy tolerance for the Clik suffix. Half-PSI increments only describe how the screen steps; they do not establish more accurate pressure measurement. We therefore leave the -CA accuracy claim unresolved rather than borrowing the neighboring standard SKU’s number. The standard 60014’s head-weight line also concerns its aluminum Presta head, not this Clik head; no head-weight or total-pump mass for the 60014-CA is established here.

Choose the connection, not an imagined capacity increase

The SL Clik version makes sense for a rider who wants an on-bike, battery-powered pump and already has compatible Clik valves or is prepared to install the core conversion. It is a more specialized valve choice, not a second air source, a stronger compressor or a universal hose kit. The lighter aluminum Presta head that distinguishes the regular SL is absent from this configuration; the -CA page calls out the Clik head instead. Likewise, the standard 60014’s Schrader hose and ball needle are not listed as included for 60014-CA.

The Mini is not promoted as a tubeless seater. VIAIR says it may work in some cases on a flat or already tightly fitted tubeless tire, but that qualification is not a dependable bead-seating claim. The manual’s run-time and hot-attachment cautions still matter after a long inflation; preset stopping does not remove the need to set a correct target and monitor the tire. Use the bicycle and fork makers’ pressure guidance rather than interpreting the pump’s ceiling as a recommended fork pressure. The documents also do not say that pumping while USB-connected is supported.

This assessment is a documentary comparison, not a use test. If the rider needs a traditional Presta head and the standard SL package accessories, compare the 60014 or 62014; if the installed bike has replaceable Presta cores and you want a carrier as well, the 63014-CA is the separately enumerated core-inclusive package. Verify the exact suffix, valve-core requirement and actual included items at the point of sale.
